You might wonder, where do they get these fantastic underwater images?

Many talented instructors, videographers, and photographers have passed through the doors of Jack’s in the last 40 years. Jeff Leicher, owner/partner of Jack’s, has also become one heck of a photographer himself.

But it is a great honor to have one of our very own talented instructors win a prestige’s international photography competition.

Simone Matucci, our loveable and charismatic Italian stallion has wowed the diving community with extraordinary blackwater photos from our Pelagic Magic Dive.

Simone, (pronounced See-mo-ne), won 1st place in the Animal & Nature Category of the 2021 Photographer of the Year Awards Presented By Nokia. 

Now in its ninth year, Photographer of the Year created by Australian Photography Magazine, is the biggest competition for amateur photographers in the Southern hemisphere.

Simone is always a blast to have on the boat with his dry humor and Italian mannerisms. We are super proud to have him on our team.
