The Ocean Guardian Dive Camp strives to create conservation-minded divers through education and training. This camp combines the NOAA Ocean Guardian Dive Club program with the PADI Underwater Naturalist and Peak Performance Buoyancy specialties

Dive Into the Beautiful, Clear, Hawaiian Waters to Improve Scuba Diving Skills While Learning How to Protect the Precious Underwater Ecosystem.

Scuba Divers, snorkelers, and water enthusiasts know all too well the fragility of our marine environment. As underwater explorers, scuba divers have a unique obligation to protect this space to the best of their ability. The Ocean Guardian Dive Camp strives to create conservation-minded divers through education and training. This camp combines the NOAA Ocean Guardian Dive Club program with the PADI Underwater Naturalist and Peak Performance Buoyancy specialties; students gain both a richer understanding of the Hawaiian marine ecosystem and the skills to enjoy it responsibly.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Ages 12 -18
  • Junior Open Water certification or higher

DATES & DAYS:

  • See Junior Camp Schedule
  • Cost: $415 plus tax and cost of student materials for Peak Performance Buoyancy and Naturalist specialties

REGISTRATION: Registration starts by calling Jack’s Diving Locker 808-329-7585 or 800-345-4807 to make a reservation. Space is limited, so please make reservations early. Please click here for camp registration FORMS. Please print, sign, scan and email forms to dive@jacksdivinglocker.com or bring completed forms to Jack’s ASAP! If your child has a YES answer on the medical statement, a doctor‘s approval is required (see below).

MEDICAL QUESTIONNAIRE: Please review the continuing education medical questions in your camp registration forms. If your child has a YES answer on the medical statement, a doctor‘s approval is required. Inquire about the medical form to take to be signed by your Dr and returned to Jack's Diving Locker.

CANCELLATIONS: Any cancellations during the final 7 days prior to the camp will result in full charge for the camp.

NEW CAMPER ORIENTATION: Parents, please schedule an on-site orientation with Camp Coordinator prior to camp start date. For travelers who can’t make these arrangements, a phone appointment will be set up.

WE PROVIDE:

  • Instruction, BCD, Regulator, Tanks and Weights

STUDENTS PROVIDE:

  • Student materials provided in Enhancement Pack
  • Mask, Snorkel, Fins (rental gear available)
  • Swimsuit, Towel, Sunscreen, Dry Clothes
  • Lunch, Snacks, Water bottle

PREPARATION:

  • Complete PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy student materials
  • Complete PADI Underwater Naturalist student materials

DAY 1: POOL & CLASS (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.)

  • Pool: NOAA OGDC Program and skill review
  • Class: NOAA OGDC Program

DAY 2: CLASS & SHORE (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.)

  • Prepare items for beach day – gear, logbook, hat, sunscreen, lunch, snacks, water bottle
  • Shore: Fun and skill practice, Underwater Naturalist dive 1
  • Classroom: Endemic species, creature ID tips and tricks

DAY 3: SHORE DIVE (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.)

  • Prepare items for beach day – gear, logbook, hat, sunscreen, lunch, snacks, water bottle
  • Shore: Explore further shore dive sites for Peak Performance Buoyancy dives 1 and 2

DAY 4: CLASS, POOL, & SHORE (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.)

  • Pool: NOAA Hawaiian Humpback Whales program
  • Shore: Underwater Naturalist dive 2
  • Classroom: NOAA Hawaiian Humpback Whales program

DAY 5: BOAT DIVES (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.)

  • Prepare items for boat day – gear, logbook, sunscreen
  • Boat: Fun dives
  • Log Dives, certifications from previous days issued upon completion

General Information:

  • Instruction by PADI certified Instructors. All scuba training follow PADI course standards.
  • PADI is the Professional Association of Diving Instructors — the world’s largest scuba certification agency.
