Make the most of your DPV experience with the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Specialty course. The course guides you in enjoying a DPV, choosing a DPV for the right ride, maintenance basics, dive planning , staying with your buddy and handling problems.
Whether you’re new to diving or have a thousand dives logged, if you’ve never scootered, you owe it to yourself to check it out.
DPV Diver Specialty Course Details
Cost:
- $450 plus tax/fees and materials (minimum 2 people)
- $750 for single diver/private course – plus tax/fees and materials
- PADI DPV eLearning Course ($138-subject to change annually), or PADI DPV Diver Manual (supplies limited)
We Provide: Instruction, 2 boat dives, DPV use, tanks, weights, light lunch and drinks on boat.
Students Provide: PADI eLearning or manual, log book, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask/snorkel/fins, and underwater timing device (dive computer recommended). Rental gear available.

DPV Diver Specialty Course Schedule
- Duration: One day– Two dives.
Preparation:
- OPTION 1: Complete DPV Diver eLearning Course
- OPTION 2: Read the DPV Manual and fill out Knowledge Reviews
- Day 1 (8:00 am – 3:30 pm): Come with completed Knowledge Reviews from manual. Boat: Two dives.
Things to Know:
Review the Continuing Education Administrative Document. If you have a YES to a medical question, you will need to get a doctor’s approval before starting the course. You may use this Medical Statement.
Flying or Driving to Altitude After Diving: If you complete the open water experience, it is recommended you wait at least 12 hours before flying or driving to altitude. If you make more than one open water dive on the same day; or, dive over two or more days, wait 18 hours.

Master Scuba Diver Rating
The PADI Master Scuba Diver rating is the highest rating in non-professional recreational diving. To achieve this rating you must complete the following certifications: Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and 5 PADI Specialty courses. In addition, divers must have at least 50 logged dives. When completing these requirements at Jack’s Diving Locker, recipients will have their names engraved on a plaque that is displayed in our shop to honor this achievement.
