Becoming an IDC Staff Instructor is about more than adding another professional rating. It’s about learning how to teach, evaluate, mentor, and support the next generation of PADI instructors.
As an IDC Staff Instructor, you can independently teach and certify PADI Assistant Instructors at PADI 5 Star Dive Centers or Resorts, conduct IDC training segments alongside a Course Director, and evaluate instructor candidates as they develop their knowledge and skills.

The IDC Staff Instructor course gives experienced instructors the opportunity to develop the skills needed to work within the PADI Instructor Development Course environment.
You’ll strengthen your ability to present information, evaluate instructor candidates, provide meaningful feedback, and support a Course Director throughout the IDC.
TEACH
Develop your ability to teach professional-level material and support Assistant Instructor training.
EVALUATE
Build experience evaluating knowledge development, confined-water presentations, and open-water teaching skills.
MENTOR
Learn how to provide constructive feedback and counseling while helping instructor candidates grow.

2 days of IDC Staff Instructor training plus attendance at the full IDC.
Already a PADI Staff Instructor? You can audit the full Instructor Development Course for $450.
PADI Staff Instructor fees are paid directly to PADI.

THE TRAINING
2 DAYS OF STAFF INSTRUCTOR TRAINING + FULL IDC PARTICIPATION.
Your Staff Instructor training is completed alongside the full Instructor Development Course, giving you the opportunity to experience the IDC from a professional staff perspective.
STAFF TRAINING
Develop presentation, evaluation, counseling, and mentoring skills while learning the responsibilities of an IDC Staff Instructor.
STAFF PARTICIPATION
Attend and participate in the complete IDC, working alongside the Course Director and instructor candidates.
PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
Gain practical experience supporting presentations, evaluating candidates, and working within the IDC environment.
